This turorial will show you how to create a cool text effect with lightning waves. Follow the instructions and you will have a fine result. Click on the pictures to get full view!

Step 1
Create a new background with 800x250 in width and height. Then you can start to color the background black. Totally black.
Step 2
Right click on 'Marquee tool' and select this tool;

Create a new layer (CTRL+SHIFT+N).

Step 4
Now use the 'Marquee Tool' at 1px and then select in center of the layer and then use the 'Brush Tool' so you will get a straight line. And then duplicate (CTRL+J) the layer so many times you want, I duplicated it 5 times.

Step 5
Now go to 'Filter -> Liquify' (SHIFT+CTRL+X) and use the mouse to make the line a bit wavy. Do this for every layer.

'Now you need to 'Merge Down' (CTRL+E) all the layers to one layer and background layer.

Now duplicate the layer and pull the layer over it. So it looks like this;

Create a new layer (CTRL+SHIFT+N)

Use the 'Brush Tool' and use 5px brush.

Click out spots on the layer like this:

Now you need Right click on the layer and click on 'Blending Options' and use Outer Glow.
