How to create a sorcerer dancer with fire
This is a tutorial by Fredric Melchersson. How to create a sorcerer dancer with fire. You can learn how to create a light reflector on clothing and other items. Follow the steps and you will have a fine result, enjoy.Step 1
First of all you need to download these pictures: Fire1, Fire2 and DancerAnd then you need to create a new image with 800x600 (width x height). Make the background totally black.
Step 2
Now we are going to paste the dancer. Drag or copy the dancer and then paste him in the new image that we have created in photoshop.Step 3
Now as you can see we got a reflection from the dancer. We are going to delete that. Select 'Eraser Tool'(E) and then erase the reflection. So it looks like this:
Step 4
Now we are going to create a fire effect on the dancers left hand. We drag/copy in Fire1 and then Right click -> Free Transform. Now we need to make it a bit smaller so if you hold down SHIFT and then click on the corner of the image and then draw.
Now we need to rotate the fire. Hold down SHIFT and then click on the corner and rotate so it fits to the hand.

Now we need to take away all the black background in the fire. To do that we need to set the layer to 'Screen'. Like this:

Select 'Eraser Tool'(E) and then use a brush with 0% hardness. Then you need to erase the corners of the fire, so it smoothes out.

Step 5
Now we are going to fix the right hand with fire. Drag/copy in Fire2 and then right click -> Free Transform. Do as you did in step 4. Hold down SHIFT and then drag the image so it gets smaller.
Now we need the black background to get away, so you need to set the layer to 'Screen'.

Select 'Eraser Tool'(E) and then erase the corners on the fire so it smoothes out. Like this:

Step 6
Now we are going to create a light reflector on the clothing from the fire. First we need to create a new layer (CTRL+SHIFT+N)
Now are we going to color a bit. Select 'Brush Tool'(B) and then use a brush with 0% hardness. You can choose the brush size you want. To make it look like the fire you need to use the color: #eb8217.

To make the color look better you need to set the layer to 'Overlay'.

Step 7
Now we are going to create a cool light effect in the background. First you need to create a new layer (CTRL+SHIFT+N) and then color the layer totally black.
Then goto 'Filter -> Render -> Lens Flare' and set the flare to 83% Brightness and 50-300mm Zoom. Try to set the flare in the middle of the layer.

When you have created a Lens Flare you need to Right click -> Free Transform and then hold down SHIFT and then start to make the Lens Flare smaller.

Now we need to color the Lens Flare and make it a bit cool. So at first you need to use the color: #136fc5 and set the black color on top. Like this:

Then goto 'Filter -> Artistic -> Neon Glow'. Set the Glow Size to 8 and Glow Brightness to 16.

Now we are going to make the Light effect twirl. Goto 'Filter -> Distort -> Twirl' and set the Angle to 728.

To get away with black background we need to set the layer to 'Screen'. And when we have done that we are going to rotate the Light Effect Twirl, goto 'Edit -> Transform -> Flip Horizontal' when you have the layer selected. Then drag the effect to the place where you want it.

To get the Light Effect Twirl behind the dancer you need to drag the layer down, under the dancer.

Step 8
Now when we have a cool Light Effect Twirl we need to make a a light reflector on the clothing. Select the layer we colored the fire reflect with. You can set the layer to 'Normal' so yo can see where you paint.
Then you just need to start paint. Use the color: #136fc5 and then paint. When you are done, just set the layer to 'Screen' again.

Finish
Now you are done and your result should look like this. And if you have any comments or questions, write in my guestbook.
